Greetings & Thoughts
Another busy week

There’s much happening in Petaluma, with a full City Council agenda this evening, a public presentation of the proposed Appellation Petaluma hotel and a session on parking at the western edge of downtown tomorrow, and a GPAC meeting on Thursday. And that’s only this week.

There should be plenty to keep you busy for the week and beyond.

Questions or comments? Let me know. – Dave Alden 707-338-8388

Tuesday, May 16 (Tomorrow) – Petaluma Public Works

The meeting will convene at 6:00pm.  Other meeting information is provided on the Urban Chat calendar, link above.

Thursday, May 18 (This week) – Petaluma General Plan Advisory Committee
This is the standing time for the monthly GPAC meetings.  After initial consideration of moving this meeting to Saturday, May 20, Planning decided the meeting will remain on this date.  The topic will be fifteen-minute neighborhoods and why they should be an integral part of Petaluma’s future.

The topic that had been previously anticipated, sea level rise and flooding risk, will be deferred to a future meeting, likely June.

The meeting will convene at 6:30pm.  Further information is provided on the Urban Chat calendar, link above.

Saturday, May 20 – Petaluma General Plan Advisory Committee (No meeting)
After initial City consideration of moving the May GPAC meeting to this date, the meeting will remain on Thursday, May 18.  Additional information is provided above.

Monday, May 22 - Cool Petaluma

Thursday, May 25 – Petaluma Urban Chat
The monthly meeting of Urban Chat is almost always agenda-free, allowing an enjoyable and enlightening conversation to wander freely over the urbanist landscape.

The exchange of ideas will commence at noon.  Other information is provided on the Urban Chat calendar, link above.

Dave Alden

Dave Alden was the blogger whose scribblings led to the first Urban Chat meeting. Since that time, he has served as the de facto executive director, spearheading several Urban Chat initiatives while also working to bring in enough other people that Urban Chat will live on when he steps away into an urban retirement of downtown living, sidewalk dining, walking, and transit.
